REGIMENTAL ARCHIVES

INFORMATION AND ENQUIRIES

The Museum’s collection comprises over 9,000 items of uniform, equipment, memorabilia and photographs relating to the Staffordshire Regiment and its predecessors. In addition, the Museum is home to the Regimental Archives of the 38th Foot, 64th Foot, 80th Foot, 98th Foot, the North Staffordshire Regiment, the South Staffordshire Regiment and the Staffordshire Regiment. This includes both Regular and T.A. units.

www.staffspasttrack.org.uk: Staffordshire Past Track contains 140 images from the Museum’s collection

www.a2a.org.uk: “access to archives” is a virtual national archives catalogue and includes a catalogue of archives of the Staffordshire Regiment

The Regimental Archives may be consulted by prior appointment with a member of staff – normally the Museum Attendant, Mr Willie Turner.

If your enquiry relates to a soldier who was killed in either the First or Second World War, it may be advisable to consult the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website first.

If your enquiry does not specifically relate to a Staffordshire soldier, other Regimental and Army Museums may be found on the Army Museums Ogilby Trust website

Enquiries may also be addressed to members of staff by post or email. Normally this would be either:
Museum Curator-Manager - Dr Erik Blackeley Tel: 01543 434395
Attendant – Willie Turner Tel: 01543 434394
Or see the Contact page.

The Museum makes no charge for this service but in order to cover our costs, donations from researchers are invited.
